So yes, Goku does have super strength, super speed, and flying abilities. This is also one of Goku's flaws: he tends to fight enemies that he cannot defeat, such as Frieza and Perfect Cell (you could argue Bills, but, eh, that was more of a test of power not so much a fight). Goku grows up and becomes stronger, and because he has Saiyan blood in his veins, becomes stronger at a faster rate than his allies and enemies and is able to stay in a fight longer. But, when he was a young boy he wasn't nearly as strong as Superman, though he should have been, since the planet he escaped, Planet Vegeta, had gravity that was 10x that of Earth's. Goku, like Superman, escaped a dying planet, was found blah blah blah. Goku's abilities are almost the same as Superman's, except Superman can't harness energy and do super awesome attacks with them. He can, though, fly into Earth's atmosphere with very few problems, unlike Goku, who would suffocate up there. In terms of the looming fight with Goku, that's irrelevant, but, I thought I would share it nonetheless. Superman can also time-travel, since he can fly so fast he can turn back time. Superman also has the fatal flaw of accidentally letting go of all his power and "whoopsie, there goes Metropolis" as we saw recently in Man of Steel, which is my favorite Superman movie and you can't convince me otherwise. So even in crappy weather Superman is still Superman.Įveryone knows that Superman's fatal flaws are exposure to Kryptonite, which will render him weaker since it brings elements of Krypton that he is no longer familiar with. And since even at night the Earth is really any farther from the Sun, he still retains his powers. Since Earth is so much closer to its star than Krypton was, he is able to draw more from the solar energy. Superman also draws most of his power from Earth's sun, so he sort of like a solar super hero. Thus Earth's gravity hardly affects Superman, giving him major bonus points. Over time he was able to adapt and then prove himself far superior to those conditions, as shown through his super strength, super speed, flight, laser-vision, x-ray vision and perfectly combed hair. Now like I said, Superman is from another planet, Krytpon, thus making him alienated to most of Earth's atmospheric features. We'll start with the one everyone already knows about: However, I will include the movies, even the newest one, Battle of Gods so to account for the Super Saiyan God form.Īnd before I can get into the nitty-gritty stuff here, I have to give some exposition on the traits of both our combatants before explaining how the fight would go down and who would win. This debate circles around most all Superman lore, but I will not include Dragon Ball GT because that is not canon to the Dragon Ball universe. Goku had to train a lot, even die, to get his powers to where they are now. However, Superman did not necessarily train to get his powers, they were always there and adapted with him over time. Except Krypton wasn't blown up by a space lord, nor as Jor-El nearly as cool as Bardock. They're from a dying race that saw their planet explode and just escaped it. Right now we get down to the most famous super hero and anime's poster boy: Superman and Goku.īoth have similar origins. Most people always wonder who would win in a fight: Batman or Superman? That answer is easier than it looks, it's obviously Batman. I'll give my thoughts on that game soon, too, don't you worry. I figured I would answer the age-old question mostly because I have been playing a lot of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z lately and that gets me to thinking. I'll give my answer at the end, because, what good is an answer without an explanation?
